Cost
Most of it may come back.
Australian patients routinely claim the Posthorax vest through the extras cover of their private health fund. Rebates commonly fall between $100 and $300 depending on the policy — and every order comes with the tax invoice a fund needs.
Cover differs between funds and policies, so check yours before you claim. This page explains the process, not your entitlement.
Typical rebate range
What patients commonly receive back on a PRO Support Vest, depending on their extras cover and remaining annual limits.
Five steps
-
01
Check what your extras cover includes
Look for medical aids, appliances or surgical supports on your policy. Ask two questions while you have them on the phone: is a doctor’s letter or referral required, and how much of your annual limit is left?
-
02
Order the correct size
Measure first — see the sizing guide — or call us and we will size it with you. A tax invoice is issued with every order.
-
03
Keep the invoice
Your tax invoice shows the supplier, the item, the date and the amount paid — the four things a fund looks for. Add any letter from your surgeon or GP if your fund asked for one.
-
04
Lodge it your fund’s way
App, online portal, email or in branch — use whichever method your insurer prefers, and attach the invoice and supporting documents.
-
05
Rebate paid
Most claims are processed within a few business days and paid into your nominated account. If your fund declines, ask which benefit category they assessed it under — we can help with the wording.
Don’t leave the rebate on the table
Order the vest, keep the invoice, claim it back. If you need the invoice re-issued or itemised differently for your fund, just ask.
General information only. Rebate amounts, eligibility and documentation requirements are set by your health fund and policy, not by Posthorax Australia. Confirm your entitlement with your insurer before purchasing if the rebate is decisive for you.
